Verkhovna Rada fired National Council on television and radio

Verkhovna Rada in the first reading passed the law on dismissing the National Council on television and radio members, according to an UNIAN correspondent.

254 out of 257 registered in the session hall lawmakers voted on this.

One of the suggestions in the draft law was that the National Council on television and radio member’s dismissal can be caused by an impeachment process to the National Council on television and radio, expressed by Verkhovna Rada and/or the President of Ukraine, according to the report consideration results. Meanwhile, the dismissal decision can be made by Verkhovna Rada concerning the members, appointed by Verkhovna Rada, and/or the President concerning the members, appointed by him.
