Verkhovna Rada passed law on humanization of criminal liability

Verkhovna Rada passed law on humanization of criminal liability, offered by the Cabinet of Ministers, according to an UNIAN correspondent.

250 out of 256 lawmakers, registered at a meeting, voted affirmatively.

People, responsible for diversion, banditry or terrorist act, aged 14-16, will not be prosecuted.

Besides, it is provided that a person, who committed a medium severity crime because of carelessness, will be released from criminal responsibility according to effective repentance or reconciliation of guilty and victim.

Also, according to the draft law, a court will be able to confiscate property, only in case a crime was committed for mercenary ends.
