An owner of Alushta aquarium is about to found a big crocodile farm that will probably become the biggest one in Europe.
The Resort-Information Center of Crimea with a reference to initiator of the project Victor Zhylenko disclosed this.
According to his words, 77 crocodiles were born in aquarium in December. As of now there are 90 animal units there. “This is a unique event in Ukraine: at once 77 crocodiles were born in our aquarium, they are growing and looking for expansion of a dwelling space”, he said.
Due to this fact, Victor Zhylenko said that it was decided to found a crocodile farm. It is planned that it will be situated in the district of the central quay of Alushta.
According to his words it is planned to finish all works by beginning of the resort season 2012.
Alushta aquarium was founded in 2003, there are more than 200 fish species and some species of crocodiles, crabs and tortoises.
