President Victor Yushchenko believes the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is now responsible for the fulfillment of Sunday’s agreements to hold early parliamentary elections, his chief of staff, Viktor Baloha, said on Tuesday, according to the President`s press-office. Having suspended his dissolution decree, the president wants lawmakers to adopt their early poll package and pass a few economic bills, he added.

Baloha said they must demonstrate their readiness to fulfill compromises and described today’s and tomorrow’s parliamentary sessions as a “political responsibility test.” He said Yushchenko would sign these bills without delay. "The head of state has demanded that these documents be immediately sent to him."
