Kuchma was charged by “expired” article

The Prosecutor General’s Office confirmed that ex President of Ukraine was accused.

Press secretary of the PGO Yuriy Boychenko said to “Ukrainska Pravda” that “ an investigator on very important cases brought an accusation against Kuchma of exceeding his authorities that led to death of journalist Georgiy Gongadze”.

According to his words, the accusation is brought by article 166 of the Criminal Code in edition of 1960 because this edition was in force in 2000.

Commenting on information that statute of limitation of this article expired, Y. Boychenko said: “It is competence of the court”.
