Within the framework of the state visit of President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych to Brunei Darussalam, Ukraine and Brunei have signed bilateral agreements, according to Press office of President Viktor Yanukovych.

In the presence of the President of Ukraine and the Sultan of Brunei Darussalam, the Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam on cooperation in the area of defense.

The document lays foundations of Ukrainian-Bruneian military-defense cooperation in such areas as joint military exercises, personnel exchanges, reforming of the military, intellectual property protection, creation of a permanent joint committee of the two states, etc.

There was also signed the Agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam on mutual abolition of visas for citizens who use passports to travel abroad (in the form of exchange of notes).

The Agreement foresees the right of citizens of Ukraine and Brunei to 30-day visa-free stay at the two countries’ territories.

President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych and Sultan of Brunei Darussalam Hassanal Bolkiah have signed a joint statement.

The document emphasizes that Ukraine and Brunei Darussalam have laid the foundations for development and deepening of friendly relations, and underscores a number of promising areas of cooperation.
