Today President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko is due to make a decision on reinstating Oleksander Medvedko on the post of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, Prime Minister of Ukraine Victor Yanukovych said this at a meeting with representatives of diplomatic missions, accredited in Ukraine.
According to him, both the sides should fulfill the joint statement. “For us, it is very important to return to the legal field and to unblock the work of the Prosecutor’s General Office. The only legitimate Prosecutor General is Oleksander Medvedko”, Victor Yanukovych said.
He pointed out they discussed this issue with President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko, and the latter agreed with it. “As far as I know he has already signed all the necessary decrees”, Victor Yanukovych disclosed.
