Lawmaker of 5th convocation Borys Bespaly (Our Ukraine faction) withdrew from the People’s Union Our Ukraine Party on his own will since 4 June, 2007.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, B.Bespaly said this to journalists in the Verkhovna Rada today.

He stressed that simultaneously he resigns from the Council of the PUOU Kyiv City Organization, the Party’s Political Council, the Party Presidium, and also informed that he is not a delegate of the party’s 4th convocation any more.

Speaking about the reasons of this decision, B.Bespaly noted that on 18 April PUOU Presidium ordered lawmakers – party members to withdraw from the parliamentary faction of Our Ukraine Bloc in order to press for a snap parliamentary poll.

B.Bespaly is convinced this is a violation of provisions 4.5-4 of the Party Statute, in line with which every party member, should he/she be elected to the parliament, must enter the faction of the party in the parliament. “My proposal to cancel this anti-statute decision was not supported, and I cannot agree with this attitude to the Party Statute”, B.Bespaly said.
