Batkivshchyna Party leader Yulia Tymoshenko considers pointless the week that the investigator has given her to become acquainted with all 14 volumes of the criminal case against her over gas contracts, according to Official website of Yulia Tymoshenko.

"When they gave me the first case to review, and we consulted with investigators, the tradition system was one week per volume – this isn’t happening. They simply don’t want to waste the time because they have a plan for reprisal," Yulia Tymoshenko said after leaving the Prosecutor General’s Office today.

She believes her right to examine the criminal case against her is being limited. "By giving me a week to review all 14 volumes they are depriving me of my right to study the case materials. It’s obvious that they’re in a hurry. Even banal criminal cases in Ukraine haven’t been investigated with such speed," she said.

However, the investigator has given her permission to copy the case files. "The investigator said we can copy these materials and so tomorrow morning we agreed that my defender, Serhiy Vlasenko, and my assistants will begin photocopying this case and we will review these materials in our office. There is nothing in the law that says that I have to go to the PGO [to review the materials]," she added.
