At the next sitting of the Kyiv Pechersk court the leader of the Batkivchshyna party Yulia Tymoshenko intends to file a motion on traveling to the U.S. to participate at the sitting of the District Court of the Southern District of New York, which reviews a claim against a co-owner of Rosukrenergo Dmitry Firtash, according to the Official website of Yulia Tymoshenko.
"At the next hearing I will present a motion on my right to travel to the United States, to be able to fight Firtash, Rosukrenergo, and corruption in Ukraine not at Ukrainian courts, but at the international courts," Yulia Tymoshenko told reporters.
In turn, the lawyer Serhiy Vlasenko has a priori expressed doubts that the judge Rodion Kireyev will satisfy the request. "The judge is afraid to release Tymoshenko to go to Lviv for the weekend. What kind of America we are talking about? Here I am more pessimistic than Yulia Volodimirovna," he said.
Serhiy Vlasenko added that in case of absence of Yulia Tymoshenko on trial in New York a group of lawyers will act on her behalf. "Respective procedures will be conducted with the participation of lawyers," he said.
