Three people were killed after two cars collided in the Russian Eastern Siberian Irkutsk region on Tuesday, a statement from the regional police department said, according to RIA Novosti.

A Lada car was moving at a high speed on a highway near the village of Vilyui and at some point swerved into the oncoming lane and crashed with a Mitsubishi car.

"The driver of the Lada car and his two passengers died at the scene of the accident. The driver of the Mitsubishi car and his passengers were hospitalized," the statement said.
