At the session in Strasbourg on July 10, the European Parliament ratified the Protocol to the Partnership and Cooperation Agreement between EU and Ukraine, signed because of the EU extension after the accession of Bulgaria and Romania on January 1 2007.

      According to an UNIAN correspondent in Brussels, the draft of the report of Yatchek Sarush – Wolskiy (People’s Parties Group, Poland) was backed by the majority of deputies, registered in hall.

      As UNIAN reported earlier, EU and Ukraine signed the Protocol to the Partnership and Cooperation Agreement between Ukraine and European Commonwealths and its member states on accession of Bulgaria and Romania to PCA.

      From the Ukrainian side, the Protocol was signed by Representative of Ukraine to the EU Roman Shpek, from the EU side, by Permanent Representative of Germany to EU Wilhelm Schönfelder and Hugues Mingarelly, Director of External Relations Directorate-General of the EC.
