Second consecutive year Hotel Leopolis named the best in Ukraine and won the right to become UEFA’s Headquarters during the preparation and holding of Euro 2012.
This was informed by Udo Heine, Managing Director of the Leopois Hotel on the September, 12th during the press conference.
This year Leopolis Hotel won once in two nominations – Ukraine’s Leading Hotel and Ukraine’s Leading Business Hotel of the world’s most prestigious competition World Travel Awards. This highest award was accepted by Leopolis Hotel during the 18th European Academy held in Turkey, Cornelia Diamond Golf Resort & Spa.
Udo Heine informed that during the year votes were cast by 213,000 travel professionals who included travel agencies, tour and transport companies and tourism organizations in over 160 countries and identified the best on each of the continents. More than 500 organisations from 47 European countries fought for the award in 125 categories.
Such prestigious Ukrainian Hotels as Donbass Palace Hotel, Opera Hotel, Premier Palace Hotel and Radisson Blu Hotel Kiev competed with Leopolis Hotel in the nomination Ukraine’s Leading Hotel 2011.
Award Ukraine’s Leading Business Hotel was fought for by Donbass Palace Hotel, Hotel Otrada, Hyatt Regency Kiev, Premier Palace Hotel and Radisson Blu Hotel Kiev.
“These awards are evidence of serious recognitions in the world as well as a good marketing tool for strengthening and developing our brand (Leopolis). This will help us in shaping a positive image in the global tourism market not only for our hotel but for the whole city of Lviv’, - said Managing Director of Leopolis Hotel Udo Heine.
According to him, high quality service and professionalism are two major factors contributed into victory of Lviv Hotel.

In edition Udo Heine said the Leopolis Hotel won the right to become UEFA’s Headquarters during the preparation and holding of Euro 2012.
“Now we can officially declare that we are the Regional Headquarters of UEFA for time of preparation and holding Euro 2012” – said Udo Heine.
He informed that the company is planning to increase the hotel’s inventory up to 74 rooms. Although the rooms are the 5star level already today to get the fifth star property will add recreation and entertainment areas – SPA Centre, Fitness Centre, Two conference Halls, Restaurant and Cocktail Bar. All of these should appear in the second and third construction stages in building under #14 and #16 located on Shevs’ka Street. PGSC “European House” is ready to invest about 70 million UAH into this reconstruction.
With the completion of the construction Leopolis hotel will contribute to the fulfilment of the requirements of the UEFA – the presence in Lviv 2,5 thousand rooms in four and five star hotels for the football functionaries and another 15 thousand beds for football fans.
World Travel Awards was launched in 1993 to acknowledge and recognise excellence in the world`s travel and tourism industry. This Award is equated to the Oscars in the film industry. Leopolis Hotel first won World Travel Awards in the nomination Ukraine’s Leading Hotel in 2010.
