Eugenia Carr, daughter of opposition leader Yulia Tymoshenko, and Hryhoriy Nemyria, deputy head of the Batkivshchyna Party, will visit Strasbourg on October 3-6 to inform leading European politicians about the latest developments in the abuse of office case against the former Ukrainian prime minister, according to the Official web site of Yulia Tymoshenko. Yulia Tymoshenko has been in jail since August 5, when the judge ordered her arrest for alleged contempt of court.

Eugenia Carr and Hryhoriy Nemyria will address a meeting of the European People’s Party (EPP) in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), along with Hanne Severinson, a representative of the Danish Helsinki Committee for Human Rights and former PACE rapporteur on Ukraine.

Eugnia Carr, who is also her mother’s defense counsel, will update the members of EPP on the latest developments in Yulia Tymoshenko`s trial and the state of her health.

Hryhoriy Nemyria and Eugenia Carr will also hold a number of meetings with European politicians, including Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights Thomas Hammarberg and Council of Europe Secretary General Thorbjorn Jagland.

The PACE plenary session will be held in Strasbourg on October 3-7.
