President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko has signed Decree #675/2007 “On introducing amendments into the Ukrainian President’s Decree #497, dated 5 June 2007”.

The respective text of the decree, dated 31 July, is posted at the official web site of the Ukrainian President.

In line with the document, being governed by part 2, article 82, and part two article 77, part two, article 102, provision 7 of the part one and part three of article 106 of the Ukrainian Constitution, amendments were introduced into the Ukrainian President’s Decree #497, dated 5 June 2007.

The headline was changed to “On appointing the extraordinary election to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, as the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine lost its power and its authorities were stopped ahead of schedule”.

In the paragraph 4 of the preamble, the words “with provision 7 part one of the article 106 of the Ukrainian Constitution”, were replaced with the words “with part two article 77, part two article 82, and part two article 102, provision 7 of the part one and part three of article 106 of the Ukrainian Constitution”.

Article 1 was replenished with the words “the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada lost its power, which cannot be resumed, as a result of which its authorities were terminated ahead of schedule”.

In the article 2, the words “in the sixty-day period before the date, mentioned in article 1 of this Decree”, were replaced with the words “since 2 August, 2006”.

The Decree joins into force since the day of its publication.
