Yulia Tymoshenko’s defense has again asked the Kyiv Court of Appeals to conduct a trial in the ex-premier’s appeal of her conviction by the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv in the so-called “gas case”, according to the Official web site of Yulia Tymoshenko.

“We insist on the need for a full judicial investigation,” said lawyer Oleksandr Plakhotnyuk. “The court of first instance did not conduct a full judicial investigation. Not all witnesses whose testimony can help establish the truth in this case were questioned. The court also refused to request original documents that can be evidence in this case.”

The defense asked the court to call the following witnesses: former head of the claims department at Naftohaz Ihor Kost, who represented the interests of the civil plaintiff in the first trial, and former members of Yulia Tymoshenko’s government, including Hryhoriy Nemyria, Ihor Umansky, Yuriy Lutsenko, Ivan Vasiunyk and Lyudmyla Denysova.

The defense also believes the court should request additional expert opinions and question specialists.
