Alternative energy use, energy efficiency and diversifying energy supplies is extremely topical for the national economy of Ukraine, President Viktor Yanukovych told Ukrainian journalists in Davos, after taking part in "Energy for Economic Growth" session of the World Economic Forum, according to the Press office of President Viktor Yanukovych.
The President informed that in his speech at the WEF session he set forth Ukraine’s position on energy issues and economic development. "There was a discussion about the situation in the world, forecasts for the next 5 years, and about Ukraine’s perception of its way," he said.
The President praised the effectiveness of World Economic Forum dialogue on the issues of energy security. "I am convinced that this dialogue will provide a vision for the future, what place will the energy sector take in the economies of different countries, what trends will there be, which renewable energy sources will be developing. This information is obviously very useful for us," he said.
