Foreign Ministry of Canada: sentence to Lutsenko is example of selective persecution

Foreign Minister of Canada John Baird believes that conviction of former Interior Minister of Ukraine Yuri Lutsenko to 4 years of imprisonment is one more example of “undoubtful political biased and selective persecution in Ukraine”.

It is said in the statement of J. Baird; the statement was passed to UNIAN by the Embassy of Canada. The Minister underlined that “conviction of former Interior Minister of Ukraine Yuri Lutsenko continues the tendency in Ukraine that causes anxiety”.

“It is one more example of undoubtful political biased and selective persecution in Ukraine”, - notes J. Baird.

At the same time J. Baird noted that Canada will continue “to support freedom, democracy, human rights and supremacy of law for all Ukrainians”.
