The reaction of Maja Kocijancic, press secretary of EU High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy and Vice President of the European Commission Catherine Ashton to the statement of the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine concerning Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine Jose Manuel Pinto Teixeira appeared at the official web site of the EU Delegation in Ukraine.
“With a deep regret we took into account the comments of the Information Policy Department of the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine concerning Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine Jose Manuel Pinto Teixeira. These comments are ungrounded and unjustified attacks on the personal integrity and professionalism of Ambassador Teixeira. We categorically reject them," M. Kocijancic said.
At the same time the press secretary of Catherine Ashton notes: “Ambassador Pinto Teixeira in further has the full confidence of the European Union and support of EU High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy and Vice President of the European Commission Catherine Ashton and the European External Action Service”.
