According to him, the early election may frustrate and will not be needed, if 300 lawmakers gather at the opening of the regular session on 4 September. “If 300 lawmakers register and open the session, there will be no election on 30 September… the Decrees [on carrying out the early election - UNIAN] will remain only for those who signed them”, the Minister emphasized.

He pointed out that the Central Electoral Commission has not considered as yet the issue of depriving lawmakers of their mandates. Thus, there is no decision that the Verkhovna Rada does not have any necessary number of lawmakers for its operation.

Explaining his surmise that 300 lawmakers may come to the session on 4 September, O.Lavrynovych said many of them were “insulted and disappointed”, as they were not included into the electoral lists for the snap poll.

As UNIAN reported earlier, on 23 August Verkhovna Rada Speaker Oleksander Moroz claimed that on 4 September he will open an extraordinary session of parliament.
