The first two interregional electric trains manufactured by Huyndai Rotem reached Odessa sea merchant port a day ago, according to Information Centre Ukraine-2012. This has been announced by Ukrzaliznytskya (Ukrainian State Railroad Transport Administration) Deputy Director-General Leonid Loboyko, the press service of the Ukrainian Infrastructure Ministry reports. He has said that customs procedures are presently under way, and then offloading of the trains will begin: it will last two or three days. Then the electric trains will be delivered to the Odessa-Zastava-1 motor depot shed, and there they will be prepared for transportation to Kharkiv station, Pivdenna (Southern) Railway.
For receiving electric trains manufactured by Hyundai Rotem, Odessa Railway workers have carried out maintenance works in the workshops and traction tracks located in the depot shed itself, and a new track has been laid for the formation and parking of electric trains. Working places and relaxation rooms are also ready for receiving colleagues from foreign railways.
Let us remind you that, in line with the contract on purchase of 10 interregional dual-standard trains for Euro-2012 concluded with the Korean company Hyundai Rotem, Ukraine will get six trains of this kind.
