A five-minute opening ceremony will be held before each match of the 2012 European Football Championship to be played on the territory of Ukraine, according to Information Centre Ukraine-2012.

“We want to make everyone going to visit our stadiums during the European Championship or to follow matches on TV screens always remember the atmosphere which will dominate during Euro and the cities where matches will be played,” the head of the Local Organizing Committee, Markiyan Lubkivskyi, has told Ukraine-2012. “For doing this, we are working on the activities which will be held immediately before the games. The ceremony will last approximately five minutes. It will show the achievements of the host city and everyday life of its residents. The performance will be impressive, and so fans will remember Kyiv, Donetsk, Kharkiv and Lviv for a long time.”

The tournament director has also emphasized that the Euro-2012 opening ceremony at Narodowy in Warsaw will last approximately 15 minutes. The official part of the closing ceremony at the Olympic NSC in Kyiv after the final will last some 10-12 minutes.
