Despite that recent polls show that people are mostly unwilling to take it to the streets, Head of the Institute of Sociology of the National Academy of Sciences believes the country is only a few governmental reforms away from a new wave of mass protests. ”When time will come for the housing and utilities reforms or the healthcare reform, everyone will be involved and affected. It will be possible to analyze the spike of protest activities depending on who will be in charge of such reforms,” he says.
“I believe our next revolution will start in the Internet. Because social networks let people unite on horizontal level, without any orders from above, which was impossible in any other social system, which required charismatic leaders,” the sociologist said.
