It depends on Ukraine how fast an economic block of an Agreement on Association with the EU will come into force, in particular concerning creation of the free trade area. European Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy Štefan Füle said this yesterday during the meeting with lawmaker of Ukraine, leader of the Front of Changes political party Arseniy Yatsenyuk during Brussels forum.
The press service of the Front of Changes disclosed to UNIAN that Štefan Füle noted “a considerable progress in renewal of democratic rights and freedoms, stopping of the criminal persecution of Yulia Tymoshenko and other political prisoners, providing her with appropriate medical treatment, will give a possibility to put Agreement on Association with the EU into operation without ratification by the national parliaments of the EU countries”.
A. Yatsenyuk addressed Š. Füle with a request “to support and strengthen a signal that Ukraine is a part of Big Europe”.
Š. Füle noted that the criminal case against Yu. Tymoshenko is only a peak of iceberg. According to his words the matter is in systematic and deep reforms and transformations in Ukraine.
