Yulia Tymoshenko requests meeting with representatives of Freedom House
Former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko has asked the administration of the Kachanivska prison to allow a meeting with representatives of Freedom House, according to the Official web site of Yulia Tymoshenko.
"Today my mother wrote a letter requesting permission for representatives of Freedom House to visit her," Eugenia Tymoshenko told the press today outside the Kachanivska prison in Kharkiv.
David Kramer, Executive Director of Freedom House, Damon Wilson, Executive Vice President of the Atlantic Council, and Robert Nurick, Senior Fellow at the Atlantic Council, are on a visit to Ukraine. Today they appealed to the Ukrainian authorities to allow them to visit Yulia Tymoshenko in prison.
Since Yulia Tymoshenko was moved from the Lukyanivka detention facility in Kyiv to the Kachanivska prison in Kharkiv in December 2011, several European politicians have requested to meet with the imprisoned ex-premier. Every request has been denied.
