Ukrainian PM, senior Chinese party official discuss ties
Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov held talks Thursday with Chen Fengxiang, a senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC), on bilateral relations, according to Xinhua.
During their talks, Chen, who is vice minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, said that the CPC will continue to promote the development of China-Ukraine relations through interparty contacts and exchanges.
The Chinese side stands ready to work with Ukraine to take the opportunity of the 20 anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties to lift the China-Ukraine strategic partnership to a higher level, Chen said.
Azarov, for his part, said that Ukraine attaches great importance to its ties with China.
Ukraine is willing to further boost practical cooperation with China in various fields, he said.
At the invitation of the Ukrainian Regions Party, the CPC delegation arrived Wednesday in Kiev for a five-day visit.
