UEFA has a positive assessment of the state of Ukraine’s readiness for the European football championship finals in 2012, according to Information Centre Ukraine-2012.

This the conclusion of the meeting of the UEFA Steering Committee, which took place on 30 April in Nyon, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine, Borys Kolesnikov, has said.

He said that European football functionaries are pleased with Ukraine’s progress, which our country has attained in recent years.

"UEFA’s assessment is a positive one overall. I want to note that two years ago we felt much worse after this meeting of the Supervisory Board. In general, there are a few finishing touches which need to be finished, but these are trivial things", said Borys Kolesnikov.

He stressed that UEFA President Michel Platini has expressed 100% confidence that Ukraine will resolve all minor preparations for the championship. In addition, from 2 May UEFA Operating Officer Martin Kallen will work in host countries, and he will provide the last recommendations from the organizers of the tournament.
