Yulia Tymoshenko’s daughter Eugenia met today with chairman of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, former President of the European Parliament and MEP Hans-Gert Pottering to discuss her mother’s health and the general human rights situation in Ukraine, according to the Official web site of Yulia Tymoshenko. Hans-Gert Pottering said that Yulia Tymoshenko should get full treatment in Germany. "Tomorrow’s examination in Kharkiv may just be the first step. If necessary for medical reasons, she should be moved for full treatment to the Charité clinic in Berlin. There is no justification for the behavior of the Ukrainian authorities," he stressed.
The MEP criticized the legal methods used by the Ukrainian government against its opponents, saying that they contradict all democratic principles. "Today we discussed not only the situation with Yulia Tymoshenko, but also the critical state of human rights in Ukraine. The Konrad Adenauer Foundation and its office in Kyiv will continue to act strongly in support of democracy and rule of law in Ukraine," said Hans-Gert Pottering.
