Italian Foreign Minister Giulio Terzi and Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski had a telephone conversation today about the situation in Ukraine surrounding former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, according to the Official web site of Yulia Tymoshenko.

"The ministers expressed their common hope that encouraging signs will come from Kyiv, that the Ukrainian authorities will demonstrate a genuine commitment to the principles of rule of law and democracy," reported the official website of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Giulio Terzi also informed his Polish counterpart that the Italian Foreign Ministry spoke with the Ukrainian ambassador to Italy and expressed their concern over the situation with Yulia Tymoshenko.
