The ceremonious opening of a new terminal took place on 17 May at the Kyiv (Zhulyany) Airport in the capital, according to Information Centre Ukraine-2012.

These air gateways will receive senior UEFA officials during Euro-2012. "This airport is the most successful example of a private and public partnership. I assure you that the Ministry of Infrastructure is ready to build a runway in any big city if the investor guarantees the construction of such a great terminal," Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Borys Kolesnikov said at the opening of the terminal.

The Vice Prime Minister said that from today Kyiv Airport has become the most convenient one for those who prefer to travel «from point to point». "I hope that the construction of these air gates will soon trigger construction of underground stations anywhere nearby", Mr. Kolesnikov said.
