European Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy Štefan Füle notes that the European Commission has never used a word “boycott” concerning the Ukrainian part of the Championship of Europe on football of 2012.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, he said this in Strasbourg today delivering a speech during debate “Situation in Ukraine, Yulia Tymoshenko’s case” in the European parliament.

“As commission we have never used a word “boycott”, - he said.

European Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy Štefan explained that a stand of President of European Commission José Manuel Barroso was that in current conditions he is not about to visit Ukraine during the matches Euro-2012. “Members of the European Commission share this stand”, - he said.

At the same time the Commissioner noted that José Manuel Barroso may visit matches of Euro-2012 in Ukraine as a private person but not as invited guest.
