U.S. Senator James Inhofe of Oklahoma is calling on the U.S. State Department to institute a visa ban against President Viktor Yanukovych, Prosecutor General Viktor Pshonka, and other officials responsible for the imprisonment of former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, according to the Official web site of Yulia Tymoshenko.

"The Senate condemns the administration of President Viktor Yanukovych for the politically motivated imprisonment of former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko," says a proposed resolution submitted by Senator Inhofe.

The Senator also urges the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe not to recognize Ukraine`s scheduled 2013 chairmanship of the Organization until the release of Yulia Tymoshenko.

The legislator also suggests that the U.S. Department of State withdraw the U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine and suspend operations at the U.S. Embassy in Kyiv and that the North Atlantic Treaty Organization suspend all cooperative agreements with Ukraine and place Ukraine on indefinite probation with regard to its Distinctive Partnership with the Organization until the release of the ex-premier.
