Ukraine is 100 percent ready for EURO 2012, President Viktor Yanukovych said during his meeting today in Kyiv with U.S. Senator for Illinois Richard Durbin, according to Press office of President Viktor Yanukovych.
Viktor Yanukovych stressed that such large-scale events as EURO 2012 are very important for development. "I would say that such events provide a boost to the development of the state, its infrastructure," the President said.
Speaking about Ukraine`s preparations for the event, Viktor Yanukovych noted that "the financial and organizational burden has been very serious." "Two years ago, according to experts, Ukraine was 10-12% prepared for Euro 2012, we were hopelessly behind the preparation schedule, and many feared that we would not make it on time," he said. "But it was a test for my team, and the country as a whole," said Viktor Yanukovych.
He reminded that today, a significant event in the context of Ukraine`s preparations for EURO 2012 had happened – Terminal D at International Airport Boryspil was opened.
