People are paid 100 hryvnias for a signature?

The Bloc of Yulia Tymoshenko accuses the Party of Regions of bribing electors in Kyiv.

According to the BYuT statement, forwarded to UNIAN, agitators, who worked for Kyiv Mayor Leonid Chernovetskiy at the previous election, propose pensioners and poor people 100 hryvnias from the Party of Regions in exchange for their signatures and passport data. Besides, the signatures are put on blank sheets of paper.

“Evidently, in such a way, the Party of Regions will either falsify electors’ signatures at polling stations, or, at least, strives to oblige trustful electors that they must vote for the Party of Regions after they received the money”, the statement reads.

The BYuT underscores that the bribery of electors is a criminal offese, and those guilty will be punished without any doubt.
