Ukraine produced over 7 mln tonnes of grains – Ministry of Agrarian Policy
As of July 9, 2012, Ukraine produced over 7 mln tonnes of grains, announced Nikolai Prysiazhnyuk, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, according to APK-Inform.
According to him, agrarians harvested early grains and leguminous crops throughout the areas of 3.6 mln ha. In particular, agrarians produced 4.8 mln tonnes of wheat, 2 mln tonnes of barley, 16 thsd tonnes of rye, 234 thsd tonnes of peas and 11 thsd tonnes of oats.
Besides, agrarians continued harvesting winter rapeseed and fodder for the livestock industry needs. As of to date, Ukrainian agrarians harvested winter rapeseed throughout 200 thsd ha, and already produced 391 thsd tonnes of the oilseed with the average yield of 19.6 c/ha, said N.Prysiazhnyuk.
According to operative data from the regions, the production of grains and leguminous crops in the current year is expected to reach the level of 45.3 mln tonnes.
