Yanukovych: simplification of Ukrainian-Russian border-crossing is under Presidents’ control
Simplification of Ukrainian-Russian border-crossing aimed at providing maximum comfort for Ukrainian and Russian citizens is under Presidents’ control, according to the Press office of President Viktor Yanukovych.
It was stated by the President at the meeting with media representatives after the session of Ukrainian-Russian interstate commission.
“Me and Vladimir Vladimirovich have a pleasure to note positive results of joint actions in simplification of Ukrainian-Russian border-crossing by our citizens,” the President said.
According to him, this issue had been under Presidents’ special control for several years already and today it was arranged to activate cooperation in that sphere in order to create maximum comfort for Ukrainian and Russian citizens.
Viktor Yanukovych also noted that in the course of the meeting “the prospects for the further work within the framework of regional and border cooperation, spheres of the most active development at the moment, were outlined”. According to the President, holding of already traditional Third Ukrainian-Russian interregional economic forum under the patronage of the Presidents in Nizhny Novgorod this fall would become an additional impetus in this promising area of interaction.
Apart from this, according to the President, Ukraine and Russia have confirmed readiness for further development of cultural and humanitarian cooperation which “definitely strengthens friendship and mutual understanding between our peoples”.
