Central Electoral Commission chairman Volodymyr Shapoval claims that the early parliamentary election in Ukraine is valid. He claimed this to a press conference in Kyiv today.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, the CEC chairman stressed that more than 62% of voters took part in the elections, which were carried out in line with the law, and were democratic.

At the same time, V.Shapoval stressed that the turnout was somehow less than at the previous Verkhovna Rada election, when the turnout was more than 66%.

According to the CEC chairman, “evidently, there were mistakes”. But he stressed that only those, who do nothing, do not commit mistakes.

V.Shapoval disclosed that, as of 9.45, 48.18% of bulletins were processed. According to the CEC data, the BYuT is leading with 33.45%, the Party of Regions receives 30.44%, OU-PSD – 15.64%, CPU – 5.07%, Lytvyn’s Bloc – 4.18%, SPU – 3.14%.

V.Shapoval stressed that BYuT has won in 127 electoral districts out of 225.
