Yushchenko outlines top priorities for new coalition and government

President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko believes that the priority task of the new coalition and the government must be to adopt a program for the country’s economic development.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, he claimed this in Kyiv today, delivering a speech on creating the parliamentary coalition.

According to Victor Yushchenko, it is necessary to stop the growth of prices through market mechanisms, and to equalize and improve incomes of citizens. “The new government must show a new quality of social policy in Ukraine”, he said.

Besides, the President stressed, it is necessary to cancel lawmakers’ immunity and privileges.

Victor Yushchenko also believes that the coalition and the government must work out and adopt a package of anti-corruption laws.

The President also insists on creating an anti-corruption bureau. “I emphasize – the law will be the one for all”, the President said.

Among the top priorities, Victor Yushchenko also mentioned providing the energy security of Ukraine.
