Chen Zhili, vice chairwoman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress (NPC) met here on Thursday with speaker of the Ukrainian parliament Vladimir Lytvyn to discuss bilateral friendly relations, according to Xinhua.

During the meeting, Chen passed greetings and best wishes from chairman of the NPC Standing Committee Wu Bangguo to the speaker.

The two sides exchanged views on strengthening the friendly relations and cooperation between the two legislatures.

Bilateral ties have enjoyed rapid and comprehensive development in the past two decades, Chen said, adding China and Ukraine should continue to deepen political mutual trust and support, and expand cooperation in trade, economic, scientific, technological, educational, cultural and other fields.

For his part, Lytvyn highly valued the achievements arising from bilateral cooperation in all fields since the establishment of their diplomatic ties.

The Ukrainian parliament highly appreciates the fruitful partnership with the NPC, and is ready to strengthen cooperation at all levels, the speaker said.

He urged the Chinese side to expand investment cooperation.
