Prime Minister of Ukraine Victor Yanukovych claims that the talks on forming the coalition must begin only after the official result of the election is announced.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, Victor Yanukovych claimed this today after a meeting with President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko and leaders of parties, which entered the parliament.

“Without the official announcement of the election results, it is impossible to start talks on forming the coalition. It is necessary to wait till the official announcement of the results, this is first. Second – five days are given for legal complaints, and only after that the process of creating the coalition may start. At first, factions in parliament must be formed, and, on this basis, a coalition agreement may be signed”, Victor Yanukovych said.

The Prime Minister stressed once again that the Party of Regions, being the winner of the election, must take part in the process of negotiations on creating the coalition. “If we enter the coalition, the post of the Prime Minister will be given to the Party of Regions, and if we become the opposition… That is, there are two questions. We are ready to shoulder the responsibility and have a right to do so as winners of the electoral race, and, if it happens, the post of the Prime Minister, will belong to the Party of Regions”, he added.

Meanwhile, Victor Yanukovych added that the Party of Regions is not afraid of working in the opposition.
