Kyiv. September 21. UNIAN. Tadeusz Mazowiecki, the first post-communist prime minister of Poland and advisor to Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski, will meet with Yulia Tymoshenko in the Kharkiv hospital where she in undergoing treatment, according to the Official web site of Yulia Tymoshenko.
"I welcome with hope the permission by the Ukrainian authorities for my advisor and political mentor, the first non-communist prime minister of Poland, to visit Yulia Tymoshenko in Kharkiv," Komorowski said, reportsthe president’s website.
According to the Polish head of state, this meeting is necessary in part to understand the willingness of the Ukrainian authorities to overcome the difficulties that may impeded Ukraine’s European integration.
"I have repeated told President Yanukovych that the issue of Yulia Tymoshenko worries me and that it is without a doubt an obstacle in Ukraine’s participation in European institutions," stressed Komorowski.
Mazowiecki, a Polish publicist, public figure and politician, was one of the leaders of the Solidarity movement and the first post-communist prime minister of Poland (1989-1991). He was imprisoned by the communists for his opposition activities.
