President Viktor Yanukovych signed into law a bill amending several laws regarding participation of the nation’s armed forces in international peacekeeping operations, according to KW
This law gives Ukraine’s peace contingents and personnel the right to participate in international operations of multinational military emergency forces not only to prevent interstate or domestic conflicts and render humanitarian aid to the civilian population that are victims of such conflicts - but also to fulfill military assignments. The law stipulates that Ukraine will participate in international operations of multinational military emergency forces by carrying out operative duties, opportune deployment of national military contingents and personnel subordinated to the command of bodies determined by decisions on conducting such operations and provision of material and technical resources and services.
