International observers from the Parliamentary Assembly of the OSCE  state that due to results of the parliamentary election democratic process in Ukraine turned in the opposite direction.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, head of the mission of observers of PA OSCE Walburga Habsurg Douglas, announcing a joint report of international observers on results of the parliamentary election in Ukraine, said this at news conference.

“I am disappointed because today I have to convey rather sad news”, she said.

“Taking into consideration abuse of power and great role of money in these election, it seems that democratic process turns into the opposite direction in Ukraine”, - said the leader of the group of observers.

“In our joint statement we note the following: the parliamentary election on October 28 were characterized by lack of equal conditions of participants primarily owing to abuse of administrative resources, insufficient transparency of financing of electoral campaign and insufficient balanced coverage in mass media”, - she said.

Also, according to her words, international observers in their report noted that some aspects of pre-electoral period became a step backwards compared with the previous election in Ukraine.
