VRU refused to elect Speaker openly

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine refused to adopt law, in accordance with which the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine should be elected in a way of open roll-call vote, and not in a way of filling of ballot papers.

185 lawmakers from  Party of Regions, 20 lawmakers from  People’s Party, 2 lawmakers from  OU-PSD and 10 out factional lawmakers voted for this law.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, only 217 out of 352 lawmakers registered in the session hall voted for adoption in a whole the Law “On introducing amendments into Regulations of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine”.
