Ukraine pays off October bill for Russian gas supply
Ukraine's state-run "Naftogas" has paid 1.043 billion U.S. dollars to Russian gas giant "Gazprom" for natural gas supplies in October 2012, Energy Minister Yuriy Boyko said Wednesday, according to Xinhua.
"Ukraine has paid on time the bill for gas imports," Boyko said during a briefing here.
Ukraine bought around 2.4 billion cubic meters of gas from Russia at the price of 432 U.S. dollars per thousand cubic meters in October.
Ukraine, which has been seeking to reduce gas purchases from its neighbor because of high price, cut its imports by 30.9 percent year-on-year in the first nine months of 2012.
