President honored memory of victims of Holodomor

On the eve of  the Day of memory of Holodomor victims President of Ukraine Victor Yanukovych honored a memory of victims of the Great Famine.

According to the press service of the President of Ukraine, the head of the state put a symbolic composition of flowers and ears of wheat to “The Bitter Memory of Childhood” sculpture in the National Museum “Memorial to Holodomor victims in Ukraine” in Kyiv. The President also put an alight icon lamp to “The Candle of Memory”.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov, chairman of Kyiv Oblast State Administration Anatoliy Prysyazhnyuk, representatives of diplomatic corps and the public also took part in the ceremony of honoring a memory of Holodomor victims.

Former Presidents of Ukraine Leonid Kravchuk, Leonid Kuchma and Victor Yushchenko also took part in the ceremony.

All those gathered honored a memory of victims by a minute of silence.
