Ukraine hopes all conditions for an Israeli-Palestinian peace agreement could be established soon, foreign ministry spokesman Alexander Dykusarov said Friday, according to Xinhua.

"Ukraine considers it necessary to ensure consistent progress to the main goal when two independent states, Israel and Palestine, will live in peace and security," Dykusarov told a press briefing.

The peaceful scenario will contribute to the establishment of stability and economic development in the whole Middle East region, he added.

He stressed that the creation of a peaceful and inclusive agreement between the Israelis and Palestinians based on the results of bilateral negotiations is a major concern of Ukraine.

Speaking about the UN resolution on Palestinian statehood, Dykusarov said the Palestinian embassy in Ukraine and the Mission of Ukraine to the Palestinian National Authority were already operational.

Ukraine is ready to continue providing support to the Middle East peace process, Dykusarov said

On Thursday, the UN General Assembly voted overwhelmingly to grant an upgrade of Palestinians' status from an "entity" to a "non-member state."
