It was announced about creation of 5 factions in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine – the Party of Regions, Batkivshchyna, UDAR, Svoboda and CPU.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, representative of the Party of Regions Oleksandr Yefremov said this at the sitting of the parliament.
He noted that the Party of Regions lawmaker faction was formed and registered in the parliament. It consists of 210 lawmakers. Oleksandr Yefremov was elected chairman of the faction and Mykhaylo Chechetov was elected his first deputy.
The Batkivshchyna faction, which consists of 99 lawmakers, was formed. Arseniy Yatsenyuk was elected chairman of the faction.
The lawmaker faction of the UDAR political party, which consists of 42 lawmakers, was formed. Vitaliy Klitschko was elected its chairman.
The faction of Svoboda All-Ukrainian Union, which consists of 37 lawmakers, was formed. Oleh Tyagnybok was elected its chairman.
The CPU faction, which as of now consists of 32 lawmakers (one more lawmaker is ill and absent in the session hall), was formed. Petro Symonenko was elected its chairman.
