At least four people were killed and eight others injured as a gas explosion ripped through a residential building in eastern Ukraine's Kharkov region Sunday, authorities said, according to Xinhua.

A gas cylinder blew off at about 5:00 p.m. local time (1500GMT), in an apartment at the tenth floor of the 16-story building, the Emergencies Ministry said.

An ensuing fire engulfed three floors, killing at least four people, including two children, while injuring another 8. The investigation was still underway.
