Foreign Minister of Ukraine Leonid Kozhara assures that his explanations concerning transportation of former Interior Minister of Ukraine Yuri Lutsenko from hospital to penal colony were accepted in the EU.

According to an own UNIAN correspondent in Brussels, the minister said this to Ukrainian journalists late in the evening on January 30 after the meeting with High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton.

“Problem issues were raised. We spoke about two resonant cases in Ukraine, about case of Yulia Tymoshenko and case of Yuri Lutsenko. I gave information, which the Foreign Ministry has at its disposal, in particular, concerning transportation of Y. Lutsenko to penal colony today. All these explanations were accepted”, - said the minister.

He noted that in accordance with his information the doctors did not know what to do with Y. Lutsenko in further and that is why the decision of his transportation to the penal colony was approved.

L. Kozhara also noted that during a talk the sides also touched upon issues concerning preparation for the summit Ukraine-EU, which is planned on February 25.

According to his words, till that time the sides expect a progress in fulfillment of the first stage of the Action Plan on liberalization of a visa regime.
